Lindsey Garcia
Lindsey is trained in jazz, tap, lyrical, hip-hop, ballet, contemporary, poms, cheer, tumbling, and acro. She took over as dance director in 2009, establishing an award winning Competitive Dance Program that travels all over the country.
Amanda Schock
Amanda started with J&J in 2017, running daily operations in the office. Soon after, she also became secretary and treasurer for the Charmers dance team. Now as co-owner, she looks forward to continuing J&J's legacy.
OWNERS
Julie Wilkins
Julie has been obsessed with tumbling since childhood, though she began as a swim instructor at J&J in 2001. When she was 31 she began tumbling recreationally and years later took over teaching the advanced recreational tumbling and cheer classes.
Megan Gearhart
Megan is daughter of Founder Joan Cunningham. In 1987, she won the Women's World Championships for power tumbling. She has coached at J&J since 1983. Megan also served as the USA Trampoline and Tumbling Junior Athlete Rep from 1996 - 2000, was the USA Gymnastics Trampoline Program Committee Chair from 2000 - 2017, and spent time on the National Coaching Staff. She is a certified National and International Judge.
Alissa Fox
Alissa is the daughter of Founder Jan Butler. She competed trampoline and double mini internationally as an athlete of J&J and went on to become a USAG judge. Today, Alissa coaches our trampoline team.
Joan Cunningham
In 1964, Joan began teaching dance classes in the basement of her parent's home. For eight years, Joan served as USAG President and was involved with the organization in a variety of influential capacities.
Janice Butler
Jan joined Joan in 1966 and the sisters named their business, "J&J." A short time later, acrobatics classes were offered as Jan had previous training in the sport. For one year in 1974, Jan ran J&J on her own as Joan had moved away for a time.
FOUNDERS
Together, Joan and Jan have hosted over 80 dance recitals and countless tumbling & trampoline competitions including State, Regional and National competitions. Under their ownership, J&J has sent ~25 athletes to compete in international competitions.
Both women were very involved in the Pecatonica community, serving on the Pecatonica Improvement Association, board of the Pecatonica Granary and started the Welcome Center.
TEAM SECRETARY
Cindy Bessert
Cindy has voluntarily served as the J&J Tumbling and Trampoline Team's secretary since 2000. She began volunteering with USAG in 1998 working in the Competition Office and as Awards Manager. In 2008, she also started tracking and approving mobility scores for elite athletes.
MEDIA MANAGER
Jordan Cone
Jordan joined J&J's competition team at six years old and competed nationally for ten years. At 13, she joined the J&J staff as a rec coach and quickly after began teaching Team as well. Today she creates marketing and staff materials for J&J and manages the gym's Instagram and LinkedIn accounts.
